How can I compete?
You compete by uploading slogans or photos. You are allowed to compete with as many contributions as you like.
What’s up with the rounds?
From April until November you can participate in the competition. The competition has four rounds. All contributions uploaded in the time span of a round will automatically belong to the current round. It is not possible to compete in advance for a later round, or the other way around.
What are the themes for the rounds?
All contributions connected to human rights are accepted at all times, as a part of the competition. The topic of the round is simply there to be a guideline for your inspiration.
Media
You can compete in two different media, photography and text. You are allowed to send in contributions to both media at the same time.
Photography
Photos should be available in 300dpi resolution, big enough to cover A3 size. Take a photo, and upload it at www.pictureyourrights.org. We recommend you title photographs. The title is then automatically regarded as a competing slogan.
Text
Write short questioning, humorous, activating or weird slogans about Human Rights and/or the topic announced for the competition round.
The prizes
As a winner you win eternal fame. The winning contributions will be printed on posters which will be spread for free around the world in 5.000 copies. Winners from each Medium (Text and Photography) will be combined for the final result, and printed next to each other on the poster. The winners will receive a number of posters. In total 20 winners will be selected.
Selection process
In each round, one winner is selected. Besides the winner, three additional contributions are chosen as candidates for the final selection. When all four rounds are completed, the final winners will be announced. 10 winners in each category will be chosen from the four rounds. Throughout the time of the competition, visitors to the web page can rate the contributions; the results of the rating is taken into consideration by the jury. The jury will select, from the contributions, inspiring and balanced material that will become great posters for the information campaign on Human Rights.
Why should I vote?
The jury will take into account the votes that you have given to the contributions. Still, the jury maintains the right to override your valued opinion.
Why should I register?
If you register, we can keep in contact easily and notify you in case of your winning. We will not misuse your email address, or allow third parties to use your details.
Who is the jury?
The jury consists of five people who are experienced in campaigning, freedom of speech and expression, art, judicial implications of Human Rights, North-South relations and equal development.
What are some golden tips to win?
Most likely, the jury will be attracted by contributions that approach the subject in a refreshing, inspiring and thoughtful way. You can also connect human rights to your personal experiences.
